Courses & curriculum 2017 - 2018
The Research Master's programme in Business is a 2-year, full time programme taught entirely in English. You choose one of the following six disciplinary focus areas:
- Information Management
- Supply Chain Management
The first year combines a training in research methodology while gaining a solid foundation in your disciplinary focus areas. Most of the research methodology courses are organised in workshop format in which various intellectual and practical aspects of research methods are discussed. The disciplinary courses provide you with a solid training in your discipline of interest. The disciplinary courses focus on the discussion of recent research studies within your discipline, and follow the problem-based-learning method.
In the second year, you have the opportunity to further specialise in your own personal research interests. You choose from a number of advanced courses on research methodology and more advanced disciplinary courses. Together with the programme coordinator, you are offered the freedom to personalise your curriculum to increase your career prospects in the best possible way.
Next to the methodological and disciplinary courses, we also focus on the development of your academic skills. During two different skills courses you will be trained in academic writing (year 1) and presentation skills (year 2).
The majority of our research master students participate in our teaching activities (first year), and/ or participate in a research internship (second year). Thus, while receiving a financial compensation for participating in these activities, you get a first impression of life as an academic professional.
