UCM is the #1 bachelor’s programme in the Netherlands: Keuzegids
For the second year in a row, UCM has been voted best Liberal Arts and Science programme in the Dutch University Guide: Keuzegids 2017. With a score of 98 points, UCM is also the highest ranked bachelor’s programme in the Netherlands in all categories!

The Keuzegids Universiteiten offers rankings of all bachelor’s programmes in the Netherlands. These rankings are based on the results from the Dutch National Student Survey, combined with expert evaluations. The Keuzegids Universiteiten is published annually by the Dutch Higher Education Information Centre. It is an independent publication that allows you to compare all accredited bachelor’s programmes in the Netherlands.

UCM is the second highest rated Liberal Arts & Sciences programme in the Netherlands: Elsevier
Elsevier ‘Best Studies’ 2017, which is based on the National Student Survey (NSE), has ranked University College Maastricht (UCM) as second best Liberal Arts and Sciences programme in the Netherlands. UCM received an high score of 83%, making it the second highest rated University College in the country. The students particularly praised the teaching staff, the facilities and the organisation of education.
- 93% of students indicated they would recommend the programme to their friends
- 90% of students indicated they are (very) happy with their teachers
- 85% of students indicated they are (very) happy with the organisation of education
The Elsevier Best Studies Guide is published once a year by the Dutch magazine Elsevier. It contains student evaluations of each programme's education, contact hours, facilities, structure, instructors and assessment methods, as well as its organisation and communication. The guide is largely based on the results of the Dutch National Student Survey.
UM is the 6th best young university in the world
Maastricht University is placed sixth place in the 2017 Times Higher Education (THE) '200 Under 50' ranking for best young universities in the world. UM is proud to have its continued efforts, for example toward internationalisation, affirmed in this THE ranking. UM also scores a top 10 position (with 7th place) in the 2016 QS ‘Top 50 under 50’; ranking highest of all European universities. These special rankings for young universities are published to give an indication as to which universities are expected in the future to become the top universities worldwide.
