Admission & registration
Admission and registration for a bachelor's programme at Maastricht University (UM) consists of the following five steps. Please read the procedure carefully and make sure to fulfil all steps in time. The deadline for this programme can be found under step 1.
Admission and registration in 5 steps

Create an account and select your programme
You can register for a study programme via Studielink. In Studielink, you will have to indicate which programme you would like to register for. If you are registered in a Dutch municipality, you can only register using your DigiD. If you do not yet have a DigiD, you will need to request one. If you do not (yet) live in the Netherlands, you still register via Studielink, but you will not be able to use DigiD. Instead, you create a Studielink account yourself and UM will check your personal details.

- Non-EU/EEA-students who need a visa or residence permit: up to and including 30 September 2017
- EU/EEA-students: up to and including 31 October 2017
Start September 2018
- Non-EU/EEA-students who need a visa or residence permit: up to and including 1 April 2018
- EU/EEA-students: up to and including 1 May 2018
Upload your documents in MyUM
Check which documents are required
After you have registered in Studielink, you will receive an email from UM within 24 hours. This email contains your personal student number and a password. You can use this information to access the MyUM portal, the intranet of Maastrichtuniversity.
In order to complete your registration, please upload the following documents via MyUM as soon as possible, at least before the application deadline:
Please note: If you accidently upload a wrong document in the MyUM portal, you can no longer remove it from your digital file. However, you can still upload the right document, but this does not replace the incorrect one. UM judges which documents are right.
- A recent passport picture
- A copy of your valid passport or your EU/EEA identity card
- A copy of your latest grades transcript or diploma
- Letter of motivation (see Admission requirements, Letter of motivation)
- Outcome of your language test with sufficient result (if applicable) (see Admission requirements, English Proficiency)
- A credit transfer request (if applicable) (see Admission requirements, Credit Transfer)
Please make sure to upload all of the required documents, otherwise your application will not be taken into consideration.
Only complete registrations will be taken into consideration. All documents must be in Dutch, English or German.

UM assesses your admissibility
Do you meet the requirements?
Maastricht University assesses whether your prior education makes you admissible.
There are two possible outcomes:
- You are admissible or conditionally admissible. You will continue to step 4 of the admissions procedure.
- You are not admissible. Your application process ends here.
UM will send you an email about the outcome, if necessary with more information about what steps to follow next.Read more about admissibility in general
Continuation of the admissions procedure
You (conditionally) meet the requirements and your application will be processed
The Board of Admissions will review and assess your application. You will be informed whether you are invited for an interview.
The admissions interview
The interview focuses on your academic plans and how you intend to accomplish these through an education at MSP. The interview is conducted by two MSP staff members in English and lasts approximately 30-45 minutes. The interview takes place at the Maastricht Science Programme. If you are unable to visit MSP for an in-person interview, the interview can take place via Skype.
Within three weeks, the Board of Admissions decides and informs you whether or not you are invited to attend MSP.
After the interview
The Board of Admissions decided whether your are invited to attend MSP. Within three weeks after the interview you are informed about their decision.

After accepting our invitation to attend MSP and successfully completing the admissions process, you will receive an email informing you on the steps to take in order to finalize your registration at UM. Furthermore, you will receive a request to pay your tuition fee.
Complete your registration
Fulfil all registration criteria and pay your tuition
After you have completed step 4, you will receive a request from Maastricht University that you need to pay your tuition fees.
Please make sure that you pay your tuition fee on time, so you can commence your study programme at the beginning of the academic year.
Please note: As of May 14 2018, you can add your payment details in Studielink.
