Admission & registration
Admission and registration for a bachelor's programme at Maastricht University (UM) consists of the following five steps. Please read the procedure carefully and make sure to fulfil all steps in time. The deadline for this programme can be found under step 1.

Create an account and select your programme
You can register for a study programme via Studielink. In Studielink, you will have to indicate which programme you would like to register for. If you are registered in a Dutch municipality, you can only register using your DigiD. If you do not yet have a DigiD, you will need to request one. If you do not (yet) live in the Netherlands, you still register via Studielink, but you will not be able to use DigiD. Instead, you create a Studielink account yourself and UM will check your personal details.

- EU/EEA-students: up to and including 1 August 2018
- Non-EU/EEA-students who need a visa and/or residence permit: up to and including 1 April 2018
For this programme the matching process is a mandatory part of the admission procedure.
You register by 1 May 2018
If you register for a programme with a mandatory matching procedure by 1 May 2018, meet the admission requirements and complete the matching procedure no later than 1 August, you will be automatically admitted, even if the outcome of the matching procedure is negative.
You register after 1 May 2018
If you register for a programme with a mandatory matching procedure after 1 May 2018, meet the admission requirements and complete the matching procedure no later than 1 August, you will not be automatically admitted. The outcome of the matching procedure will be taken into consideration.

Upload your documents in MyUM
Check which documents are required
After you have registered in Studielink, you will receive an email from UM within 24 hours. This email contains your personal student number and a password. You can use this information to access the MyUM portal, the intranet of Maastrichtuniversity.
In order to complete your registration, please upload the following documents via MyUM as soon as possible, at least before the application deadline:
Please note: If you accidently upload a wrong document in the MyUM portal, you can no longer remove it from your digital file. However, you can still upload the right document, but this does not replace the incorrect one. UM judges which documents are right.
- A recent passport picture
- A copy of your valid passport or your EU/EEA identity card
- A copy of your latest grades transcript or diploma
- Evidence of additional courses or tests in the required subjects (if applicable)
- Outcome of your language test with sufficient result (if applicable)
- A request for credit transfer(if applicable)
Only complete registrations will be taken into consideration. All documents must be in Dutch, English or German.Read more about uploading documents via MyUM in general
UM assesses your admissibility
Do you meet the requirements?
Maastricht University assesses whether your prior education makes you admissible.
There are two possible outcomes:
- You are admissible or conditionally admissible. You will continue to step 4 of the admissions procedure.
- You are not admissible. Your application process ends here.

Continuation of the admissions procedure
You (conditionally) meet the requirements and your application will be processed
Maastricht University finds it most important that you choose a study programme and learning environment that suits you well and in which you can be successful. This is why a matching procedure is a mandatory part of the application process

You will receive an invitation to complete the questionnaire on your private email address, indicated by you in Studielink. Please complete this task as soon as possible. Read the course descriptions and programme information on our website before you begin.
You will receive feedback via email. Our goal is to answer you as soon as possible. Note, however, that if you apply early it can take some time before you get your feedback.
Based on the outcome, you may receive an invitation to come in for a personal meeting with a member of the academic staff and the study advisor. Please read our emails carefully, as these may contain information about additional steps necessary to finalize your matching process.Read more about the admissions procedures in general
Complete your registration
Fulfil all registration criteria and pay your tuition
After you have completed step 4, you will receive a request from Maastricht University that you need to pay your tuition fees.
Please make sure that you pay your tuition fee on time, so you can commence your study programme at the beginning of the academic year.
Please note: As of May 14 2018, you can add your payment details in Studielink.
