Dr. Dimitrios Rafailidis is an assistant professor at DKE & IDS at Maastricht University. His main research interests are Machine Learning, Information Retrieval, Recommendation Systems and Social Media Mining.
He is currently working on:
- Domain-specific data analytics solutions for collaborative filtering via deep learning with latent models in recommendation systems, including real-time ensemble analysis for hybrid and adaptive recommendations.
- Cross-domain recommendation via deep transfer learning.
- Transparency based on neural attentive models and adversarial training to provide people with explanations while generating recommendations.
- Novel learning strategies for conversational recommendations.
His publication record includes presentations at top-tier conferences such as ACM CIKM, ACM RecSys, ECML/PKDD, IEEE/ACM ASONAM, ACM SIGIR and ACM WWW, and journals at top international quality such as ACM TOMCCAP, ACM TiiS, IEEE TKDE, IEEE TMM, IEEE/ACM TCBB, IEEE TBD, IEEE TSMC and IEEE TASLP.
