Caoilinn Hughes (C.)
Caoilinn Hughes is an Irish poet and novelist. She completed her B.A. and M.A. degrees at the Queen's University of Belfast, and her Ph.D. in English at Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand. She currently holds a Visiting Writer position at Maastricht University.
Her poetry book, Gathering Evidence, was published by Carcanet Press (U.K.) and Victoria University Press in 2014, and it won the Irish Times Strong/Shine Award 2015, the Patrick Kavanagh Award, and it was a finalist for: the Seamus Heaney Prize for Best First Collection 2015, the 2015 Pigott Poetry Prize in association with Listowel Writers' Week, the 2014 New Zealand Post Book Awards and the Royal Society of New Zealand Science Book Prize 2015. Her debut novel, Orchid & the Wasp, will be published in early 2018 by Hogarth (U.S.), Oneworld (U.K.) and Éditions Bourgois (France). An extract was published in the Spring 2016 issue of Tin House.
