Prof. dr. Harm Hospers

Prof. dr. Harm Hospers studied psychology at the University in Groningen. He moved to Maastricht in 1985 to work at the Department of Health Education of the Faculty of Health Sciences. His research focuses primarily on HIV/AIDS prevention, more specifically on behavioral determinants studies as well as on the development and evaluation of evidence-based behavioral interventions. He obtained his PhD in 1999 at Maastricht University (thesis: Homosexual Men and the HIV Epidemic). In 1999 he joined the Faculty of Psychology of Maastricht University where he was Director of Studies and – later - member of the Board of the Faculty. He was appointed Dean of University College Maastricht in January 2009. In January 2011 he was also appointed Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Sciences. He currently holds a chair in Applied Health Psychology. Prof. dr. Hospers was appointed Vice-Rector for Education of Maastricht University in February 2015.
