Data and Privacy
The Alumni Office, part of UM's Development and Alumni Relations Department, collects its alumni's private information. By means of this webpage, we would like to tell you more about private information, what it is, how it can be protected, where it is recorded and what it is used for.
Why does the university still has my data?
Maastricht University (UM) considers it of great importance that its alumni continue to be part of the academic community. Therefore, also after graduation we like to offer you the opportunity to make use of services offered by us.
We like to be able to contact you in order to invite you for events in your living area, the farewell reception of your favorite teacher, reunions or ’lifelong learning’ offers. Furthermore, actual information about our alumni is important for us, because it enables UM to further organize and develop its education and research and to support career development of students and alumni. Your employment information contributes to evaluate and optimize your former faculty’s curriculum and with this students and alumni are optimally informed on their career perspective as well.
