Global Innovation Economics
Making economic globalization work
Do you worry about the effects of globalization on developing countries or the environment, or are you enjoying life in the global village? Either way, globalization has significantly changed the world. Foreign direct investment, international trade but also migration have influenced the world economy, and pose new challenges for all. This program provides both the broad overview and the detailed knowledge that you need to start a career in the global economy.
Global linkages
The Global Innovation Economics track has strong links with the research institute UNU-Merit, located in Maastricht and part of the United Nations University. UNU-Merit enables you to reach directly into the world of cutting-edge research on the global economy, with opportunities for internships and writing a thesis.
Global Innovation Economics is a 1-year, full-time programme taught entirely in English. Graduates will a master's degree in International Economic Studies with a specialisation in Global Innovation Economics.

- understand how globalisation matters for firms’ strategies and policy;
- evaluate global economic governance and policies.
