Maastricht is a research university located in the Netherlands. Most of our programmes incorporate Problem-Based Learning, an innovative, student-centered teaching method that emphasizes research skills, small tutorial groups and personal attention from instructors. Our graduates go on to do master’s programmes in top universities in the Netherlands and around the world.

Maastricht is the birthplace of the European Union. Both the city and the university embrace the culture of the “Erasmus generation” and its stress on cosmopolitanism, academic mobility and inter-institutional cooperation. We actively recruit students from target countries across Europe and the world.

Every year Maastricht University Baltics team invites all the new students for a welcome drink. This year, more than 70 new students from Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia started their studies in Maastricht. We were happy to see all of you there and we wish everyone a successful year!
