Campus Brussels
In a short time span Maastricht University (UM) has established an international reputation based on its innovative approach to learning, and its international outlook. With almost 40% of our students and 30% of our teaching staff coming from abroad, Maastricht University (UM) is a highly internationally oriented university. Additionally, many of the programmes and courses Maastricht University has to offer are unique in the Netherlands as well as in Europe.
Within the framework of the mission statement of Maastricht University -Leading in Learning- and to emphasize the aforementioned international outlook, the UM has an active policy to set up a number of international secondary establishments. The launch of the Campus in Brussels is the latest project in this field. Two main lines of thought serve as the basis for setting up the Campus in Brussels.
First, the UM Campus Brussels aims to bring high quality post-academic courses to professionals who are active in the European and/or Brussels arena to the heart of the European decision making process. The large variety of courses will enable the participants to broaden and deepen their knowledge in their field of interest or expertise.
Second, a large number of UM students and Alumni are active in Brussels. The Campus functions as a place where they can meet, exchange experiences and keep their knowledge and UM network up to date. For this purpose the Campus accommodates meeting, study and office facilities.
