- Organizational criminology, which is the criminological study of corporate, governmental and state crime.

Professional Career History

Roland Moerland is a lecturer in criminology and law. He holds a Master’s Degree in Criminal Law from Maastricht University, the Netherlands, and a Master’s Degree in Criminology from the University of Sydney, Australia.

Research Profile

He is currently working on a Ph.D., in which he examines the question how denial operates in the aftermath of the Rwandan Genocide. In order to gain such an insight, Moerland has placed the research within the field of cultural criminology which has cultural, critical and interactionist foundations.

Roland Moerland has taught a variety of courses: Introduction to Law, International Development Law; European Integration; Tort Law: and Substantive Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure. He currently teaches such research-related courses as Criminology, Organizational Criminology and Causes of Gross Human Rights Violations.
