Programme information
The PhD programme in Public Policy, Innovation & Development is designed to provide advanced training in the knowledge and skills that are most relevant to policy analysis including policy design, policy monitoring and policy evaluation.u will follow an individualised plan that outlines your requirements for completion of the programme. This plan also incorporates your educational and professional background and research interests.
Training programme
During the first year, you will complete a basic, compulsory training programme conducted by leading scholars of the partner universities. The basic courses are offered in Maastricht and are divided into two semesters. Please click here to download the coursebook of 2009-2010 >>
The dissertation
At the end of the first nine months, you will present a research proposal and a detailed research plan for the remaining part of their fellowship. In defining your research topic, you will be guided by the partners of the research network. Supervision during the entire project will be provided by two staff members. PhD fellows also complete a 6 to12 month international visiting researcher position within the supporting institutional network.
During the second and third years, you will research and write your dissertation, which should be finished at the end of 36 months.
