Honorary doctorate for prof. Geert Hofstede

The University of Pécs, Hungary, has granted Professor Emeritus Geert Hofstede the title of Doctor Honoris Causa. The ceremony has been fixed for Thursday 15th October 2009. The city of Pécs in Southern Hungary was founded by the Romans. It will be one of three Cultural Capitals of Europe in 2010. The University of Pécs is one of the oldest in Europe, founded 1367. Geert Hofstede is Professor Emeritus of Organizational Anthropology and International Management at Maastricht University and is still an Extra-Mural Fellow of the CentER for Economic Research of the University of Tilburg. He already received honorary doctorates at Nijenrode, Sofia, Athens, Gothenburg, Liège and Vilnius.
