The Copyright Toolbox is an aid for drawing up agreements on the publication of academic work. It allows an author or publisher/institution to compose agreements simply, by addressing each step relevant to publication.

List of organisations that manage rights


  • CEDAR
    CEDAR (Centrum voor Dienstverlening Auteurs- en aanverwante Rechten) is a service centre for copyright and related rights which undertakes the full administration on behalf of seven copyright organisations (including copyright fees).
  • Stichting PRO [Dutch]
    The PRO Foundation for publication and reproduction rights (Stichting Publicatie- en Reproductierechten Organisatie) administers the use of material protected by copyright in publications for teaching purposes (e.g. e-readers).
  • Stichting Reprorecht 
    The Reprorecht Foundation collects the fees for copying short passages from copyrighted work.
  • Stichting LIRA [Dutch]
    LIRA, the foundation for authors’ literary rights (Stichting Literaire Rechten Auteurs), is a copyright organisation for originators and users of literary, literary-dramatic and musical-dramatic works.
  • Stichting de Thuiskopie
    The 'Stichting de Thuiskopie' collects and pays out the levies on blank image and sound carriers.
  • Buma/Stemra
    Buma/Stemra promotes the interests of national and international music authors and publishers in the Netherlands.
  • NVPI
    The NVPI is the Dutch trade association of the entertainment industry, and represents the majority of Dutch recording companies and video/film and game software distributors.
