Evidence-Based Searching (EBS) for Medicine
More and more healthcare professionals are beginning to work in an evidence-based manner. This means that they make decisions on the basis of the best available evidence, their own experiences and the patient’s/client’s preferences. However, they are increasingly confronted with a continuous stream of literature, recommendations, protocols and guidelines. In your day-to-day practice you, too, regularly search for relevant information that can help you make decisions for individual patients/clients.
This evidence-based searching course focuses on:
- translating a clinical problem into an answerable question via the PICO system
- efficiently searching for the best evidence using electronic sources and bibliographies.
Participants are expected to be familiar with searching electronic bibliographies.
