Why a Dutch bank account?

As a service to its students, Maastricht University makes it possible for all degree students to pay their annual tuition fees in 8 equal installments. However, this is only possible when the student has a Dutch bank account. Besides this, a Dutch bank account is also convenient for all other monetary transactions in the Netherlands. If you would like to open a Dutch bank account, ING bank has accounts that cater specifically to students.


However, students are free to open an account at any bank in the Netherlands. Each bank has its own requirements and features.


How to open a bank account at ING bank

First you will have to pick up a proof of enrollment from the information desk of Student Services at Bonnefantenstraat 2. As soon as you have collected this letter, togerther with your passport, you can report to the ING branch at Vrijthof 45 to open your bank account.
