Regulations for sporting locations
UM SPORT uses various sports accommodations in Maastricht and its surroundings. The major part of the sports programmes takes place at Sport Centre Randwijck.
Personal belongings
Maastricht University continuously aims at safety. Take care of your personal belongings. Do not wear your most expensive clothes when you come to the Sports Centre. You can use a locker. Locker keys are available at the front desk.
Towel
The use of a towel is obligatory in the fitness gym and all activities involving mats. No towel? No mat!
Shoes
Clean indoor shoes are obligatory for all indoor activities. Please bring your indoor shoes along and put them on in the sports centre. This will be checked regularly. Please be aware that supervisors and instructors might check your shoes.
Improper use
UM SPORT membership is strictly personal. UM SPORT is entitled to vindicate the sports card when improper usage is noticed. UM SPORT is also entitled to (temporally) vindication in the case of improper behaviour.
Restitution
Restitution of the sports card, fitness licence and/or course is not possible.
Loss of sports card
Due to loss or theft of the sports card nad/or fitness licence, a new one can be obtained. Administrative costs will be charged in case of loss. Administrative costs will only be charged in case of theft if you are not able to show a valid certificate of notification from the Police.
Checking of membership card (sports card, fitness licence, select pass, punch card)
One must always be in possession of the sports card / fitness licence and/or certificate of participation for a course during the training / lessons.
If one cannot show a valid membership card, certificate of participation for courses / training will be denied. This will be checked every time you come at Sports Centre Randwyck at the service desk.
If you forget your sports card and/ or fitness license for 3 times, there will be charged a financial penalty of €5,-. A duplicate will be printed.
Liability / insurance
Sports (wo)men are not insured by Maastricht University for consequences of accidents during sports activities.
Further, Maastricht University is not responsible for loss of clothing and/or valuable assets. It is recommended therefore to wear adequate sports clothing and sports spectacles.
Maastricht University could hold one responsible for causing damage or destructions. Make sure you are insured for the risks accompanying sports activities.
Cancellation of lessons
UM SPORT strives for substitution of teachers in case of absence Unfortunately, this is not always a possibility. Restitution is not possible.
