OTTO Scholarships - School of Business and Economics

OTTO Work Force is the largest international labour broker in Europe. On a daily basis OTTO places some 10,000 employees, 4,000 in the Netherlands, 3,000 in Poland, 2,000 in Germany, and is, albeit on a smaller scale, active in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary. OTTO Work Force expects to have a turnover in access of € 185 million in 2011. Its Head Office in Venray has over 150 staff of various nationalities.  OTTO Work Force distinguishes itself in the market because of the comprehensive guidance and training of its employees. OTTO is a member of ABU and VCU and is NEN-4000-1 certified.


The University Fund Limburg - on behalf of leading international labour broker OTTO Work Force – will award two study grants to students on the Global Supply Chain Management and Change Master Programme.  The grants cover tuition fees and contribute towards additional expenses. The bursaries are allocated by the Scholarship Office of the Maastricht University. Applicants must demonstrate the necessary ability and ambition and must furthermore have the Polish nationality. To be eligible for a scholarship, applicants need to be admissible to the MSc in Global Supply Chain Management and Change (Venlo).


The Master Programme Global Supply Chain Management and Change ties in perfectly with the requirements which (some of the) OTTO employees have to comply with.  Eventually OTTO Work Force hopes to benefit from the acquired knowledge and expertise. The company offers applicants the opportunity to work at Otto Work Force during his/her studies. 


This scholarship provides an opportunity to experience the Problem-Based Learning educational model at Maastricht University, but also gives the scholarship recipient the opportunity to learn from other cultures by becoming a part of Maastricht University’s international academic community.


The OTTO Work Force Scholarship will focus on the Master's programme Global Supply Chain Management and Change. This is a one-year master's programme entirely taught in English at Maastricht University, Campus Venlo.

Who is eligible?
The OTTO Work Force offers two scholarships for young talented students participating in the master's programme Global Supply Chain Management and Change at Maastricht University, Campus Venlo starting in September 2012. Applicants must meet all requirements of the application procedure. Applicants have to be a national and passport holder of Poland and need to be admissible to the MSc in Global Supply Chain Management and Change (Venlo).

Application and selection

The deadline for submitting a scholarship application is 1 June 2012. In order to be eligible for a scholarship, you need to be admitted to a master’s programme. This means that we need a complete file, for the Msc programme also, before 1 March.
Therefore we advise students to take the gmat- or gre, Toefl/Ielts test before 10 February. Please include your scholarship application in the master application.
Only electronic applications for a scholarship will be taken into consideration.


The Faculty will review and rank the application requests. The Maastricht University Scholarship Committee together with OTTO Work Force will make the final decision. Applicants will be informed about the selection outcome mid April.


For the scholarship assessment, the Scholarship Committee takes all elements of the application into account, including the level of previous study programmes, academic excellence, motivation, status of the home institution, the connection with the prior study programme, future career plans and the references.
