Netherlands Fellowship Programme
NFP is a demand-driven programme designed to foster capacity building within organisations in 57 developing countries. Funded by the development cooperation budget of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it provides education and training to mid-career staff members.
The need for education and training must be present within the applicant’s organisation, meaning that applicants must be nominated by their employers. Applications without employer support will not be considered.
NFP finances PhD, master’s and short courses as well as tailor-made programmes designed to meet the specific training needs of organisations within cooperating countries. There are also refresher courses for NFP alumni who would like to revise earlier learning and update their knowledge and skills.
Application procedure
Applicants for PhD, master’s or short courses must first gain academic admission to their course before applying for a fellowship through the Dutch embassy or consulate in their country. Students can only apply for a NFP fellowship if the programme of their choice is on the NFP course list.
