WiFi: Wireless Network Maastricht University

Maastricht University offers students and employees the opportunity to connect to the university network (MAASnet) and the internet. A secure wireless network has been installed in nearly all UM buildings.

By appointment the WiFi facilities will be available in every as such recognized student or employee space within buildings owned by Maastricht University

For whom:

Maastricht University’s WiFi network consists of three wireless networks:

students: eduroam
employees: UMnet
guests: UMguest

To make use of the WiFi facilities you must first connect to your respective network.

eduroam: More and more education institutes inside and outside the Netherlands are connecting to eduroam, an education network for mobile and international students.

If you are a UM student but are studying temporarily at another university or higher education institute which is also connected to eduroam, you can make use of their wireless network.

Maastricht University students can thus use their own UM accounts to access the WiFi networks of other institutions connected to eduroam. For an overview of the hotspots for wireless internet within education organizations go to: Internetvergelijken.com/faq/universiteits-hotspots

UMnet (employees): This network is exclusively intended for UM employees.

UMguest* (guests): This network is specially designed for guests of UM who do not have a UM account or an account at another institution connected to eduroam and will only allow access to the internet.
