Transfer Students
If you have completed courses at a recognized and/or accredited institution of higher education on a level that is comparable to the course level at UCM, and you would like to complete your degree at UCM, you can apply to the College as a transfer student.Credit transfer procedure
If you want to apply as a transfer student you have to upload the request form for credit transfer in the My UM portal together with a certified transcript from the college or university at which you obtained these credits, stating the title of the course(s), the level of the course(s), the credit(s) awarded and grade(s) earned. Furthermore, you have to provide UCM with a description of the content of the course(s) that you wish to transfer, e.g., the description found in the course catalogue or the course syllabus.
If you are invited to attend UCM, the Examination Committee will determine the possible number of credits eligible for transfer. Please be aware that the Examination Committee decides upon credit transfer after a possible invitation, however prior to the student’s enrollment.
Upon starting your studies at the College, you will discuss the consequences of the credit transfer for your program with the Examination Committee during the introduction week. The maximum amount of credits that can be transferred towards UCM is 60 ECTS (or two semesters) and only courses which have been completed with a good grade will be considered for credit transfer. Please note that credits obtained at community college or junior college cannot be transferred.
Who can apply as a transfer student?
Transfer students have to meet the admissions requirements as set by UCM. Credits needed for meeting the basic admissions criteria cannot be considered for transfer.
