Completion of Student Report

Upon your return to UCM, you will be required to write a student report on your experiences as an exchange student. These reports will assist future students applying to participate in the exchange program, as well as providing the Academic Advisor with useful information for planning purposes. If you would like to be contacted by prospective semester abroad students, you can list your E-mail address. If not, your E-mail address will not be listed. Your comments about your semester abroad experience are invaluable to your peers and to UCM staff, who advise on semester abroad. You should also hand in other documents that are specified in the Semester Abroad Guide. The International Relations Office (IRO) will give you all relevant information.

Academic Advisor

Meet with your Academic Advisor to review your Course Approval Sheet, syllabi and the papers you completed while abroad.

Re-entry Shock

Culture shock on arrival in your host country is something that many students prepare for. You expect differences and mentally prepare for these.
“Re-entry” or “reverse” culture shock is not something that most students expect when they return home and yet this lack of expectation can make it more stressful.
It is important for you to realize that coming home can be a challenging experience. While you were away, things may have changed back home. All the “moving on” can result in your feeling a little disjointed or out of place at home.
