About the course
The objective of the training courses is to strengthen the capacity of government officials and development partners to develop and implement social transfer programs. The training will provide course participants with the core knowledge enabling the management of the design, costing, planning, financing and roll-out of social transfer programs.
The training course will expose participants to up-to-date knowledge from theory and practice. It provides the essential theoretical and practical background enabling practitioners to manage, assess and evaluate the merits of social transfer programs and initiate policy programs.

The course combines different teaching methods in order to achieve the best learning results. Plenary sessions will be complemented with exercises and case studies. Experience from the field will also have a prominent place in the program strengthening the link between theory and practice. During a daily wrap-up session participants will summarize the main concepts/lessons learned during the day.
- Plenary sessions introduce a topic, lay out the theoretical background, explain methodologies, and relate it to the specific situation of the region. Sufficient space is allocated for questions and discussions.
- Exercises and case studies allow participants to practice and discuss the concepts and methodologies introduced during the plenary sessions.
- Professionals from ongoing pilot projects in the region share their experiences, thereby further strengthening the learning impact.
- At the end of every day, participants will summarize the key lessons of the day;
- Specific time slots are allocated for self study by participants in order to prepare for the final assessment.
