Application & admissions

Applicants to the Sustainability Science, Policy and Practice programme must meet the following requirements:

  • master’s degree (or equivalent) in economics, humanities, engineering, political science or other natural or social science
  • excellent written and verbal English language skills
  • demonstrable ability to pursue independent research through prior work and academic distinction

The application must include the following:

  • certified copies of your certificates and grades (preferably scanned)
  • proof of English proficiency (preferably scanned/native speakers and students who have received their bachelor’s or master’s education in English are exempt)
  • motivation letter (in Word or PDF)
  • two letters of recommendation by current or former professors or employers (preferably scanned but originals to be sent as well)
  • one–page PhD research proposal (in Word or PDF)
  • curriculum vitae (in Word or PDF)
  • copy of your passport (preferably scanned)
  • passport size picture (preferably scanned)
  • proof of financial assistance through for example an obtained fellowship (otherwise do contact us first regarding funding opportunities)
