Sustainability Science, Policy and Practice (ICIS-SSPP)
Traditional scientific inquiry has limitations in understanding the complex interaction between society, economy and natural phenomena. The PhD programme in Sustainability Science, Policy and Practice trains researchers in a new, inter-disciplinary approach that compensates for these limitations called sustainability science. The program gives PhD candidates the skills they need for a research career in areas related to integrated assessment and sustainable development.
Sustainability Science, Policy and Practice is organised by the International Centre for Integrated assessment & Sustainable development (ICIS), which collaborates with the following international networks of research institutes:
- Research School for Socio-Economic and Natural Sciences of the Environment (SENSE)
- Sustainability Training And Research network (STAR)
- Science and Innovation for Sustainable Development network
The supporting institutes provide students with advanced training modules, research advice and innovative think tank activities. The network also offers support and supervision to candidates in the programme.
Sustainability Science, Policy and Practice is a four-year programme taught entirely in English.
