Short courses and programmes at DKE
At the Department of Knowledge Enginering (DKE) it is possible to follow one or a few courses, instead of taking a complete programme. Please contact DKE to learn more about the costs and conditions of taking separate courses.
UM students from other education programmes can enroll for DKE courses or even minors anytime, without any additional costs.

Educational Minor for DKE bachelor’s students
In addition to the DKE-minors for students from other study programmes at Maastricht University, we offer an educational minor to DKE bachelor’s students. This educational minor has a study load of 30 credits and lasts a semester. The Minor in Education will prepare you to teach and to take up a position in the teaching profession and give you the opportunity to develop didactic and pedagogical skills. The Minor in Education is equivalent to 30 ECTS, of which half (15 ECTS) are obtained by successfully completing a practical internship in secondary education. It is possible to follow the minor fulltime or part-time. It will also be possible to follow individual blocks. The Minor is intended for students who are enrolled as a third year DKE bachelor’s student. One way in which you can follow the programme is during the time allocated for electives, but you can also take it as an additional module over and above your bachelor's programme. For more information how to incorporate the educational minor in your study programme at DKE, please contact the study advisor. This programme is taught in Dutch. For more information on the educational minor please visit the website of the Teachers Academy: www.teachersacademy.nl.
