Collaboration in education
DKE’s education is not only offered by Maastricht University! We collaborate with many foreign universities to keep the high quality of the education at an excellent level. To illustrate: Our Master programmes are part of the Transnational University of Limburg (tUL), a cooperation in which Maastricht University and University of Hasselt (Belgium) to combine forces. Moreover, some of the optional courses in the third year of the Bachelor programme are offered by teachers from Aachen University (Germany). And we haven’t mentioned the new collaborations we engaged to make sure that the third year Bachelor’s students get the opportunity to study a semester at a university abroad. At the moment we collaborate with Reykjavik University (Iceland), Aarhus University (Denmark), Singapore Management University (Singapore) and Université de Montreal (Canada). We expect to be able to add universities from the USA, Australia and Hong Kong soon.
Besides working together with other universities, we also have lots of contacts with (commercial) companies. The assignments for our Projects often emerge from company specific problems. We collaborate with for instance Philips, Central Bureau for Statistics (CBS), Academic Hospital Maastricht (azM), ANWB (Dutch road service), CapGemini and Vodafone for thesis and project assignments.
