Maastricht Education and Research Centre (MERC) is a subsidiary of Maastricht University and has been incorporated as a Private Limited Company under the Indian Companies Act, 1956 with a registered office in Bangalore, India. MERC is fully committed to compliance with all applicable laws of the land and any treaty or bilateral agreements entered into or likely to be entered into between India and the Netherlands. MERC is managed by an elected Board of Directors.
Main objectives of MERC are to:
- Connect Maastricht University, The Netherlands (parent organization) with students, their family, academia, alumni, education and research institutions, medical centres and industries in India. Maastricht University is a strong research university offering a stimulating study environment in a Problem Based Learning (PBL) education setting
- Offer recruitment and admission consultancy including pre-departure training to the prospective students
- Provide professional and academic support services, such as setting up and coordinating formal meetings with Indian partners, providing advice on entrance level documentation in application files of Indian students, etc. in relation to various programmes of Maastricht University, the Netherlands in order to create lasting network contacts with an international academic community and industry setting
- Provide India centric certificate courses to the employees of Indian corporations, Government establishments etc. who have entered into relationship with MERC to avail such services.
