Sharing knowledge and experience
Maastricht University has over 25 years of experience with implementing student-centred learning in medicine, the health sciences, law, economics, management, business studies, public administration, informatics and social sciences. In addition, Maastricht University has intensively researched problem-based learning and related methodologies, contributing to their theoretical basis as well as documenting practice. As a result, Maastricht University has become an internationally acclaimed resource centre of knowledge and experience on student-centred learning.
Maastricht University wants to share its knowledge and experience in various ways. It offers international programmes to foreign students. It exchanges students with higher educational institutions around the world. It cooperates with universities worldwide in research. And it cooperates with universities that have comparable ideas about learning, in order to strengthen their educational programmes.
To share its knowledge and experience in student-centred education with universities in the developing world, Maastricht University established the 'Maastricht University centre for international cooperation in academic development', MUNDO.
