About us

Founded in 1997, the Maastricht University Centre for International Cooperation in Academic Development (MUNDO) is dedicated to facilitate educational development and innovation in the developing world. For this purpose, MUNDO establishes partnerships between Maastricht University and institutions for higher education around the world.

• MUNDO aims to strengthen the institutional capacity of its partners and develops human resources to enable partner institutions to deliver better higher education
• MUNDO supports capacity development in higher education by introducing methodological innovations (such as Problem-Based Learning and skills training), supporting curriculum development and the improvement of teaching and learning resources, helping develop new programmes etc.
• MUNDO works on a need-driven basis, therefore, in all our initiatives the expertise available at Maastricht University meets our partners’ learning needs
• Our work is to facilitate educational development and bring experts and stakeholders together to accomplish a common goal
