Cambridge courses

The Cambridge courses in English as a Second or Other Language (ESOL) were created by the world-renowned University of Cambridge in the UK, and are taken by more than two million people each year. At the Language Centre, we prepare you for one of three exams: Proficiency, Advanced or First Certificate. These lead to a qualification that is recognised by employers all over the world as proof of your English proficiency, and lasts for life.

The Cambridge courses are particularly targeted at university staff (see LO-funded courses to check if you are eligible for funding) but are also open to external clients. They consist of two book-based modules with a break over summer/Christmas, and cover all five parts of the exam: speaking, reading, writing, listening and grammar. The exams are held externally twice a year. As of now you can do your Cambridge exams in Maastricht aswell. Click here for more information on the exams.
