Description
The UCM Capstone is the culmination of a students academic work at UCM. The capstone is an 18 weeks module for which students receive 10 ECTS. During the first weeks of capstone students will work on formulating their individual Capstone goals, determine a topic and format and make a writing plan. In addition, students will need to choose a Capstone advisor. The Capstone advisor provides the student with advice and guidance on the content of the Capstone. From week 4 to 16 students work on their Capstone individually. There will be meetings with the Capstone tutors, other Capstone students, and the Capstone coordinator. These meetings are arranged around activities that support the individual work on the Capstone such as presenting one’s own work to other students and giving and receiving feedback. Furthermore these meetings are intended to monitor the progress on the Capstone work. Students will meet with their individual Capstone advisor separately from these group meetings. A complete draft of the capstone is to be handed in before the final period of the Capstone project. This draft is discussed with the Capstone advisor. The last weeks are used to complete and revise the Capstone.
Goals
• To enable students to express their individual academic profile through a scholarly project during their last semester at the College. • To assist senior students in the preparation for the transition from undergraduate education to a master program or the labor market.
Instruction language

Prerequisites
To participate in the Capstone students should be in their last semester at UCM (usually the 6th except for transfer students) and no more than 40 ECTS away from graduation at the start of the Capstone. Note that Capstone replaces the regular two skills trainings and project of a UCM semester. Participating in Capstone as part of the regular workload at UCM is doable, but demanding (i.e. next to the two courses per period). Therefore, having a higher workload due to e.g. additional courses, skills trainings and/or projects is not recommended.
