UM partner in international Europubhealth master

Maastricht University, in particular the department International Health of the Faculty of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences, joined the consortium of renowned foreign universities that offers the international Europubhealth master. The programme has the prestigious ‘Erasmus Mundus’ label, awarded by the European Commission after a firm selection.
The two year master programme educate students how to design, plan, implement, advise and assess large scale health prevention and promotion programmes. Improving the public health of large populations, such as in the European Union, demands specific skills and knowledge, which is provided in this master. World wide there is a large demand for this kind of professionals, who are able to translate (European) policy into evidence based, cost effective health care.
The philosophy of Erasmus Mundus scheme is to bring together students and scholars originating from various countries and having very different but complementary educational profiles. Europubhealth enjoys the growing number of high-quality applications (from 350 in 2006 to 500 in 2009) from all over the world (mainly Asia, South-America, Africa and Europe). The programme has made a substantial contribution to the development of high-quality human resources in Europe and partner countries.
