Two specialisations in the master Globalisation and Law

23 February 2010

As from September 2010, the law faculty offers the refocused Master in Globalisation and Law with two specialisations: one in Human Rights and one in Corporate and Commercial Law. The teaching will be taken care of by staff members of the renowned Maastricht Centre for Human Rights. Visit the website for more information on the master Globalisation and Law.

The Human Rights specialisation aims at how humanitarian standards and procedures may be used to mitigate the negative consequences of globalisation. In this context ‘humanitarian’ refers to international human rights law, international criminal law and international humanitarian law.

The specialisation in Corporate and Commercial Law deals with the key areas of corporate and commercial practice in an international setting. The courses provide students with a firm grasp of essential legal concepts, prevalent in various jurisdictions, allowing them to work from different (inter-)national legal systems.
