SBE team wins prestigious Bangkok case competition!24 August 2009
Every year prestigious Business Schools all over the world organise International Case Competitions for their top students. Student teams are required to solve a real business problem and to formulate feasible recommendations for possible solutions within a short period of time. The Maastricht University School of Business and Economics (SBE) regularly trains and sends top student teams to take part in these competitions (click here for an overview). During the Thammasat Undergraduate Business Challenge in Bangkok, which took place from 18 until 22 August, the SBE student team really came through for us and ended up being too strong for the teams of University of Florida and UC Berkeley during the preliminary round while in the final round the team beat the teams of NUS (National University of Singapore), the University of Melbourne and Nanyang. The SBE team consisted of the following BSc students: Valentina Cullmann, Katja Friedrichs, Nils Hoppe and Susanne Wolf. They were accompanied by their Team Advisor Bas van Diepen, who, together with Rudolf Baethge, was responsible for their training. All of us at SBE are understandably extremely pleased with this outstanding achievement and offer our heartfelt congratulations to the winning team!
