The competition policy allowed only nine teams of four undergraduate students who had to convince a judging panel of respected business leaders of their business case. In the preliminary round participating teams were required to submit a video presenting their analysis and proposed solutions based on the theme of the ABCC@Nanyang 2010's "striving towards carbon neutrality". In the semi-finals and Grand Finals the teams were able to defend their recommendations under 15 minutes of rigorous questioning by the panel of judges.
The winners were announced at the Gala dinner on the last day of the competition. With cheering applause the winning team was honored.
