Prof. Rianne Jacobs appointed extaordinary professor European Administrative Law and Public Governance

As from 1 April prof.mr.dr. Rianne Jacobs has been appointed extraordinary professor European Administrative Law and Public Governance. She hold this chair within the department of public law of Maastricht University, faculty of law.

Rianne Jacobs studied Dutch law at Maastricht University. She graduated in 1993 and worked as PhD candidate and later as  lecturer at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (1993-1999). In 1999 she obtained her doctoral degree based on a PhD thesis about subsidy agreements (title: Subsidieovereenkomsten. Een onderzoek naar de rechtsvormen van subsidies, in het bijzonder overeenkomsten). From 1999 to 2002 she worked as a lawyer in Amsterdam with Stibbe where she finished her professional lawyer training.

Since December 2002 she has been working at the legislation directorate (Directie Wetgeving) of the Ministry of Justice and Security. Her work is in the field of (European and national) general administrative law. From April 2005 to March 2012 she also worked as a senior researcher financial administrative law at the department of constitutional and administrative law of Leiden University.
