Prof. Jan Smits joins Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW)

Professor Jan Smits (professor of European Private Law, department of Private Law, Maastricht University) has been chosen as a member of the KNAW’s Literature department (Humanities, Law, Behavioural Sciences and Social Sciences). The KNAW chooses new members every year based on their academic achievements and advocacy of the academic community. KNAW members are renowned scholars from every possible research area. The 27 new members will be formally installed on 13 September.
