Patrick Schrauwen receives 1 million Euro grant from Diabetes Foundation

Patrick Schrauwen (FHML / Human Biology) receives a €1 million grant from the Diabetes Foundation (Diabetes Fonds). Schrauwen will use this grant for his research: Optimizing the beneficial health effects of exercise for diabetes: focus on the liver.
The Diabetes Fund received six requests for subsidy but only accepted that of Patrick Schrauwen. Besides scientific quality, the request was also assessed on relevance, applicability and the degree of promise for the patient.
