NWO awards two grants to Maastricht research projects

Both Jaap Hage and Saskia Klosse have been awarded grants in the NWO Open Competition for their research projects entitled ‘Legal operations in property law and tax law’ and ‘Towards an innovative legal framework for employment protection’. Marjan Peeters and Ton Hartlief also placed highly in this round. Their research projects, ‘Climate change and carbon footprints: legal instruments to ensure reliable climate information for consumers’ and ‘Punitive damages, suitability for Dutch, French and German tort law’, both received an A classification. This means that these projects were also eligible for funding but, due to limited financial capacity, the grants could not be awarded.
