Maastricht law students reach final WTO moot court

A student team of the Maastricht Faculty of Law has qualified for the final Oral Rounds of the prestigious ELSA Moot Court Competition on WTO Law. The final will take place next May in the Dominican Republic.
The European Regional Round, which the students won, took place on March 6th at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium. The team consisted of the students Barbara Cooreman (MA Globalisation and Law), Hannah Huell (MA International Laws) and Jasmin Hundorf (MA European Law) and academic advisors dr. Valentina Vadi (Lecturer in international law) and dr. Leïla Choukroune (Assistant Professor in international economic law). Amnogst other teams, they beat King’s College London. In addition, Barbara Cooreman won the prize for the Best Orator.
The case this year has a specific focus on the TRIPS Agreement, intellectual property and public health.
Law students from Maastricht University perform quite well at the various international moot courts that are being organized.
