RSI /CANS

The Knowledge and Treatment Centre for arm, neck and shoulder complaints (KKB) gathers, generates and distributes information in the field of arm, neck and shoulder complaints (CANS, or KANS in Dutch). The KKB also serves as a triage point for treatment and referral solely for employees and students of Maastricht University (UM) and Hogeschool Zuyd (HSZuyd), using its expertise to provide patients suffering from arm, neck and shoulder complaints (pain) with ‘optimal’ assistance (meaningful, effective and practical assistance).

The KKB is a joint venture of UM and HSZuyd and focuses on knowledge in the field of prognosis of health problems, efficacy of (therapeutic) interventions, auxiliary aids and information concerning the prevention and combating of arm, neck and shoulder complaints. Another objective is to gather information directed at the re-integration of employees and students suffering from arm, neck and shoulder complaints.

The KKB is an initiative of the RSI Knowledge Centre. Founded in 2001, the RSI Knowledge Centre was an initiative of Maastricht University and received support from the Ministry for Social Affairs and Employment.
