UM Professor Alexander Sack joins The Young Academy

The Young Academy has again acquired ten new and outstanding researchers, including Alexander Sack, Professor of Brain Stimulation and Neurocognitive Psychology at Maastricht University. The Young Academy, a dynamic and innovative platform of top young scientists, selects its members based on scientific excellence, an interdisciplinary approach and a broad interest in scientific practice and communication. The official inauguration of its newest members will take place on 16 March 2012 in the KNAW Trippenhuis.
Alexander Sack (1972), endowed chair as of 1 July 2011, is researching the relationship between the human brain, behaviour, perception and cognition. Sack set up two research laboratories at Maastricht University and coordinates his own research line. He collaborates with forensic researchers and rehabilitation and neurology research groups on issues pertaining to psychology and neuroscience. As an academic adviser, Sack is also closely involved in the Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes, for which membership is exclusively granted to outstanding students with a broad interest in science and society.
