21 December 2010
This evaluation guide to Dutch universities and institutions of higher education includes a ranking that is not only based on student opinions, but also on the experts’ opinion, contact hours and success rate. The three last categories are responsible for 50% of the final result. As a whole, Maastricht University kept its 3rd place in the list of best universities, same as in 2008, 2009 and 2010.
The four bachelor’s programmes of the Maastricht University School of Business and Economics evaluated by the Keuzegids have all reached the number one spot in its 2011 ranking:
| Programme | Remarks Keuzegids |
|---|---|
| International Business: | 'The only real good International Business programme can be found in Maastricht. |
| Econometrics and Operations Research: | This programme received a lot of praise from students for the ‘interesting and stimulating lessons’ and the ‘very professional lecturers’. |
| Fiscal Economics: | This programme received high praise for group size, facilities and success rate (graduation). |
| Economics: | This programme received high praise for success rate (graduation), facilities, organisation, content, teaching staff and preparation for the labour market. |
Overall, as in previous years, the SBE programmes score highest on programme content, success rate (graduation), organisation, facilities, teaching staff, group seize, and preparation for the labour market.
Since 2005, SBE has been consistently present in the higher regions of the Keuzegids ranking. Maintaining a high standard in education has always been a key issue in SBE’s strategic programme, and rankings are a perfect means to show the world how well SBE is doing.
The ranking for the master’s programmes in the Netherlands will be published around the end of January 2011.
