Mira Scholten wins 2012 Europe Award

The Europe Award is annually given by the Montesquieu Institute to a junior academic for the best scientific article written in the field of comparative parliamentary history and constititutional development in Europe. Scholten won the award for her article 'Independent, hence unaccountable? The need for a broader debate on accountability of the executive', which was published last year in the Review of European Administrative Law (2011/1, pp. 5-44).The Jury consisted of one professor and two researchers of the Montesquieu Institute and its participating Universities (Leyden, Groningen, Nijmegen and Maastricht). The articles were judged on the criteria of originality, significance of the study, overall quality and results and accomplishments of the article. The award ceremony took place in June in the Great Hall of the Dutch Senate. See photo gallery.
