Maastricht University School of Business and Economics remains in top 30 of the Financial Times Masters of Management ranking
20 September 2011
After participating for the 5th time in the Financial Times Global Masters of Management ranking, the master’s programme in International Business at Maastricht University School of Business and Economics (SBE) has consolidated its top position at a 28th position, shared with BEM Bordeaux Management School. The FT ranks the top 65 universities offering Master in Management programmes worldwide.
The FT ranking is based on information provided by alumni from the 2008 MSc International Business programme class about their career, employers and salary. Furthermore, the School submitted data on the international character of the student body and employees, the international mobility of its students, language of instruction and other related issues.
SBE scored particularly well in the following categories:
- Value for money: 3rd place (the rank is calculated using alumni salaries three years after graduation and course costs. The length of the course is also taken into consideration)
- Employed at 3 months: 20th place (found job within 3 months after graduation)
- Aims achieved: 21st place (measuring whether alumni have fullfilled the goals/reasons for doing the masters programme)
- Women in advisory board: 12th place
- International faculty staff: 14th place
- International students: 19th place
- International mobility: 23rd place (the rank is based on changes in the country of employment of alumni between graduation and today)
In addition, the subject ranking shows that Maastricht alumni rank SBE as the number 7 in the category ’top for International Business’.
SBE is also proud of the accomplishments of a number of partner institutions. This year six SBE partner universities are ranked in the top 10: Universität St. Gallen (#1), ESCP Europe (#3), EM Lyon Business School (#5), Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (#7), Essec Business School (#8) and Grenoble Graduate School of Business (#9).
