The ranking is based on students’ as well as experts’ opinions. Programmes are scored on a 0 to 10 scale (with 10 being the highest possible score).

The International Business programme scores a staggering 7.8 and leaves the competition far behind. According to Keuzegids 2012 ‘Maastricht remains the absolute best choice to study International Business’.

Fiscal Economics shares its first place, a programme which the Keuzegids calls ‘solid’. This programme has been ranked first three out of four years since it was first included in the ranking in 2009 (it was ranked second in 2010) .

The Economics and Business Economics programme scores very high as well, a 7.6. According to the Keuzegids ‘Maastricht is the best choice if you want to study specialized economics’. Maastricht’s programme is ranked second behind Wageningen,  about which the Keuzegids states ‘if you want to study a combination of economics, policy- and natural sciences you should choose Wageningen’.  During the past eight years Maastricht’s Economics and Business Economics programme has been ranked first three times.
