The Baltic Writing Contest 2011 was a great success! We received a total of 76 essays, making the selection process very difficult. We were happy to host the winners of the contest: Mara Skredele, Koit-Romet Rahupõld and Gintaras Martinaitis. An especial thanks to the three Baltic Ambassadors Gita Kalmet, Maris Klisans and Vaidotas Verba for visiting Maastricht and making the award ceremony as wonderful as it was. The Baltic team would also like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who made the event possible, but also the runners up in the contest: Artjom Usnitskov and Kati Pino (Estonia); Aleksejs Sazonovs and George Trenin (Latvia) and Ausra Cincyte and Mykolas Suminas (Lithuania).
