Student associations

Starting univertsity means a fresh start: living on your own, having a different lifestyle and meet new people. Joining a student association is a good way to expand your circle of acquaintances and  make new friends.  From sports to subject-related study associations, to music and international organisations: at Maastricht University there is plenty to get involved in.

Student associations
A student association will give you an added opportunity to fully enjoy your student years and to develop yourself further. If you organise your time efficiently, you should have enough time to do things other than just study – so why not go for it? You’ll have no trouble finding a student association that suits you.

During INKOM, representatives from most of the student associations will be there to introduce themselves to you. The following websites will give you a good, first impression of associations at Maastricht:

• SV KoKo
• MSRV Saurus
• SV Circumflex

• MSV Tragos

Debating societies
A debating society usually falls under a student association, but there are also independent ones - 40 in Maastricht alone. These societies are smaller than student associations and organise a lot of activities which bring the members together.

International associations
In Maastricht you can also find a number of international associations. These associations bridge the gap between Dutch and international students and usually focus on promoting exchange and internship opportunities.
